Sadly, I can’t travel as often as I’d like to. Which is why I’m always happy to read others’ travel blogs and memoirs. Recently my Kobo introduced me to Cuba Diaries: An American Housewife in Havana. The book is actually the contents of Isadora Tattlin’s diary that she kept while living in Havana for 4 years back in the nineties. In it, she provides a million mental snapshots of the life of every day Cubans at the time. I’ve been to Cuba before but I was young and my eyes weren’t looking much farther than the white sand and the mojitos. Reading this book showed me a whole new side to this beguiling country and its beautiful people. Besides, who wouldn’t enjoy reading someone else’s diary? If you’d like to know more about the book, check out my guest blog book review here for blogger The Second Assistant.
p.s. my real name isn’t Tea, but I wouldn’t mind if it was.
